David Newton, a Toronto-based fitness and wellness careerist, has launched a pair of functional, organic teas in collaboration with Lemon Lily to support and optimize physical and mental health. With over 25 years as a fitness teacher and student, teaching over 60 classes each week, Newton recognized a disconnect between people’s effort and focus to physically train in the gym from how they nourish body and mind with clean, healthy fuel.
 
His new teas, named Ritual: Up and Ritual: Down are intended to support new holistic habits and healthful rituals, while replacing artificial energy enhancers and relaxers with something natural, organic, fairly-traded, and effective. While sipping tea in itself can be an activity steeped in mindfulness, these functional teas are handcrafted from quality herbs and superfoods from around the world to support the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.
 
The quality of the tea is as important as its function. Newton has collaborated with Lemon Lily to bring the teas to market. Also based in Toronto, Lemon Lily is an all-Canadian tea company revered for handcrafted natural and certified organic loose leaf teas. All ingredients are sourced from top tea estates and organic farms (direct trade) from around the world.

Ritual: DOWN will stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, offering healthy clearing and calm. Its ingredients are certified by Ecocert Canada, and include organic lemongrass, organic chamomile, organic peppermint, organic nettle, organic dandelion leaf, and organic butterfly pea flower. This tea steeps a blue color.
