Anil Shrikhande is president of Polyphenolics and is a research and development veteran with 30 years of experience in executing science and technology with a key interest in flavonoids and polyphenolics of grape, wine and byproducts. He is an author of 25 research publications, inventor of eight patents and holds a PhD in Food Science and Technology from the University of Massachusetts with specialization in plant flavonoids. His varied experience including senior research scientist at Welch Foods and director of technical services at Heublien Inc., famous for Smirnoff Vodka, Jose Cuervo Tequilla and now merged with Diageo, the largest liquor company of the world. From 1994 to 2009 he has managed the research and development department of Constellation Wines and developed high quality ingredients such as MegaNatural color and Polyphenolics health and wellness product line. He has also developed and marketed MegaNatural BP, a grape seed extract with health specific benefits.

Health E-Insights: What are the most important decisions you make as a leader of Polyphenolics?
Mr. Shrikhande: The strategies behind true growth and allocation of budget for clinical research are always at the top of my decision-making list. We also want to grow profits by 15-20% in 2010 by engaging new customers in dietary supplements.
Health E-Insights: What is the biggest challenge facing corporate leaders today?
Mr. Shrikhande: In an economic downturn with the continued possibilities of future slower growth, how to increase revenues and profits by engaging new customers has to be the biggest, if not one of the biggest.
Health E-Insights: As the president of the Polyphenolics, how accessible are you to your customers?
Mr. Shrikhande: As a president I am always ready to communicate with customers usually by providing key information that they can use for their competitive advantage. Customer satisfaction in all aspects of our business. At Polyphenolics we provide exceptional technical support, meet shipping deadlines and consistently provide product and service quality.

Mr. Shrikhande: I’m a scientist with an exceptional applications mind.

Mr. Shrikhande: I would invest at least half of it for future, donate to charities to help communities, give some to children, more to my spouse, and travel the world.
