Albion Human Nutrition, Clearfield, UT, has launched of its newly redesigned and enhanced SIDI (Standardized Information on Dietary Ingredients) website. The website is a vital resource for product specific data Albion’s customers in the dietary supplement industry will utilize.
SIDI is relied upon by manufacturers to meet standards required in raw dietary ingredients. “It’s essential for ingredient suppliers to offer data in a clear and concise format,” said Kory Longhurst, director of quality systems for Albion. “By standardizing information, this voluntary guideline will assist Albion information exchange to our dietary supplement manufacturers. This, in turn, provides validity to certification programs, such as Kosher, Halal, and GRAS, for example.” This updated portal of data reinforces Albion’s corporate commitment to quality raw materials, integrity in manufacturing and finished product verification.
The new SIDI website has a clean, easy to navigate format that is very user friendly. Information, such as allergy listings pertaining to specific products, can now be found in one location. Product claims are also listed with appropriate data and certifications. These are easily accessed by using PDF downloads.
“The web format enables Albion to track data such as customer visits and downloads” says Mr. Longhurst. “We could potentially add other media content, such as white papers. Changing significant information or updating fields will be much easier because all corresponding documents will be readily available in organized groupings.”

The SIDI Work Group comprises three of the supplement industry’s trade associations: Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA), the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and the United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA).
