The ninth annual international HerbDay will be held Saturday, May 3rd, to honor the many ways herbs enhance lives.
Herbs are essential components of everything from dietary supplements to incredible cuisine, beautiful gardens, and effective personal products. HerbDay commemorates the many unique benefits of herbs and botanicals through a coordinated series of independently produced public educational events that celebrate the importance of herbs and herbalism.
“People around the world have passed down the long tradition of using herbs, from simple teas to complex extracts for self-care and improvement,” said Mark Blumenthal, founder and executive director of the American Botanical Council. “HerbDay events celebrate these essential botanicals and raise awareness of reliable herbal resources in each community, including herbalists and other experts, who can help participants make informed choices to improve and maintain their health.”

ABC encourages everyone to show support by hosting, sponsoring, and/or attending an event. HerbDay events vary widely and include lectures, workshops, herb walks, cooking demonstrations, in-store events, presentations by herbal product companies, herbal-themed children’s activities, and much more. Past events have been held at retail stores, schools, farms, botanical gardens, garden centers, and public parks worldwide.
