According to new research presented at the November American Heart Association (AHA) meeting in Chicago, IL, some components of grape seeds and grape skins, identified as procyanidins, have been shown to inhibit the synthesis of endothelin-1, a vascular hormone known to play a role in many of the processes underlying vascular dysfunction and the development of atherosclerosis. The tests were conducted on MegaNatural™ Gold grape seed extract from Polyphenolics. The study suggests that an effective daily dose would be 400 mg of MegaNatural Gold. The news is significant because it indicates that polyphenols may be beneficial for more than their antioxidant properties.
